Something exciting is happening in Bluffdale, UT, June 8 – 12, and your family may want to be a part of it. Ride to New Heights is a locally-based, nonprofit program offered by United Angels Foundation that promotes inclusion for children with special needs by providing them with opportunities to learn to ride a 2-wheel bicycle. It will be held at Summit Academy School.
There are limited spots still available for riders in the camp so you will need to register quickly. Because there are five 75-minute sessions each day, there will be no more than 8 riders at any one time at camp which ensures more individualized attention for your rider. Each rider attends the same 75-minute session for each of the 5 days (M – F) and is assigned two volunteers that will work with the rider throughout the week.
Must be at least 8 years old by start of camp and have a disability
Must be able to walk without an assistive device and sidestep to both sides
Must be able to attend the same 75-minute session each day of the 5-day camp
Must be under 220 lbs. and have a minimum inseam measurement of 20″
We invite you to show your support for this program and all of the children who will benefit by sponsoring Ride to New Heights this spring. Your support will help all people with special needs in our community step toward a brighter tomorrow. 100% of your tax deductible donation will be used for the cost of the camp. We are seeking both organizational and individual donors to make this year’s program a great success.
Be a “spotter” for the same rider for each of the 5 days and experience the thrill of giving the gift of riding a bike! We need 80 volunteers to help with the bike camp. 75 invigorating minutes per day… it may just be the most rewarding volunteer experience you’ll ever have.
Please visit the iCanShine Website for more information on the bike camp, rider registration, sponsorship, or to volunteer.
