Revamping an Icon

New Accessible SignA new rendition of the familiar blue “handicapped accessible” sign is being promoted around New York City.  An article by Shaun Heasley on the website Disability Scoop describes the philosophy behind the new look . . .

“Rather than depict a static person in a wheelchair, the new icon displays an active, in-motion version of life with a physical disability.”
