Some of you may not be old enough to remember Mr. Rogers and his Neighborhood. Long before Sesame Street and other more lively children’s programs, he spoke quietly and sincerely to young children, both on-set and across the country, ending each show by looking me in the eye and saying that transformative phrase . . . “I like you just the way you are.”
Some of you may have seen this video on Facebook recently. I share it here, not only for the obvious pertinence to Liahona Project readers, but for the powerful final moments of this worthwhile 11 minute video, where Fred Rogers delivers a moving and eloquent summation of his values.
