Gerald is a 30+ year professional in the field of developmental disabilities. He founded both RISE, Inc., a nonprofit organization supporting people with disabilities in Oregon, Utah, and Arizona, and Acumen, Inc., a fiscal employer agent for people with disabilities in 16 states. He is also the creator of the nonprofit initiative Orange Socks that educates prospective parents on the joys and challenges of having a child with disabilities. More importantly, he says, “I am the father of eight children, the youngest of whom has Down syndrome.”
